LANDWEST is currently seeking a mid to senior-level Land Planner/ Landscape Architect.


LANDWEST focuses on providing contemporary land planning solutions in a local context, with particular emphasis on creating socially and environmentally responsible development solutions. Our work involves engaging in a high level of collaboration with clients, project team members, government staff, and project stakeholders. Our current project workload includes land planning and landscape architecture for new communities, large-scale commercial development projects, recreation-themed land development, luxury resort planning, religious facility master planning, and alternative energy project development.


This position will involve approximately 60% land use entitlements work and 40% design work, although this naturally will fluctuate depending on current project load. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing entitlements and design projects and coordinating and managing a variety of project team consultants. This position requires a high level of competency in communication, organization, scheduling, positive client relations, and presentation skills. Applicants must have exceptional skills in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and the MS 365 suite, and be well versed in construction materials and methods. Applicants must be licensed to practice landscape architecture in Colorado. Some remote work is possible, although office time will also be required in Carbondale, and project site visits are frequently necessary. Preference will be given to candidates with a familiarity and working knowledge of local land use codes in Garfield, Eagle, Gunnison, and Pitkin Counties.
